In response to customer needs, ATSCO elected to add a new arm to its already extensive testing protocols, in the form of a completely self-contained impulse testing procedure. Impulse testing at full BIL ratings added another layer of performance insurance as to the integrity of all transformers repaired and manufactured by Alamo Transformer. This was an unprecedented move as impulse testing had notoriously been reserved as an original manufacturer production test.
